The exhibition is an arrangement of thoughts. Paintings, drawing, mostly painted drawings or the ‘drawps’ (drawing with paint).The centre of the presentation is the installation ‘Settled’ , a metaphor from my hometown. The shapes are innerlinks of the African diaspora. We meet and settle thoughts.
By arranging a settlement and move on into myself, I satisfy my urge for order and adjust it as desired. Like the start, the earliest form of a residence. A begin with a future. As a fertile farmland for crops to grow. A brainstorm of feelings and ideas. A communicating arrangement. We meet and settle thoughts.
The show is like a flower where bees come and the rest is history.
A tent is a shelter where I can rest for a while. I can settle for a brief moment before the next ...
It is for staying as long as suitable to stay. Circumstances decide how long I settle at one place. ‘Settled’.
